Ingredients
For the Oat Trick
1/2cuprolled oatsnot steel-cut or instant
1cupwater
1/2lime, juicedfresh, not bottled
1pinchcinnamonoptional
Instructions
Blend the Base
Measure the rolled oats into the blender first.
Pour in the water.
Squeeze in the fresh lime juice.
Blend on high for a full 30 seconds, until no gritty oat texture remains.
Finish and Serve
Add a pinch of cinnamon and pulse a few times to combine.
If too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time and blend again until it thins out.
Pour into a glass and drink right away, before it thickens or separates.
Notes
Best blended fresh right before drinking -- it thickens and separates within an hour. Use rolled oats only; steel-cut stays gritty and instant turns gluey. Fresh lime juice balances the raw oat flavor better than bottled.
