Mountain Dew Cream Soda Dirty Soda Recipe

Mountain Dew with vanilla syrup and a pour of half-and-half -- the dirty soda that went viral on TikTok. Three ingredients, two minutes. The vanilla cuts the citrus edge and the cream rounds out the carbonation.

Ingredients

For the Mountain Dew Cream Soda

  • 12 oz cold Mountain Dew regular or Zero Sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla syrup Torani or DaVinci vanilla -- do not use vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp half-and-half cold; heavy cream gives a richer result
  • ice as needed

Instructions

Build the Drink

  • Place the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or pre-fill with ice and dump. Cold glass keeps the drink fizzy longer.
  • Fill the glass with ice. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup over the ice. Do not use more -- vanilla syrup is concentrated and a second teaspoon pushes the drink from vanilla-accented to vanilla soda.
  • Tilt the glass and pour Mountain Dew slowly down the inner wall, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top. The tilt and slow pour reduce foam and preserve carbonation.
  • Pour 1 tablespoon of cold half-and-half over the back of a cold spoon held just above the Mountain Dew surface. It will layer briefly before folding in.
  • Do not stir. The cream folds in naturally as you drink. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use vanilla syrup, not vanilla extract -- extract is alcohol-based and tastes harsh in a cold drink.
Keep the vanilla to 1 tsp per 12 oz. This is the tested sweet spot -- more and you lose the Mountain Dew character.
For a richer version, use 1 tbsp heavy cream instead of half-and-half.
