Equipment

  • 1 Bamboo whisk or small whisk
  • 1 Small saucepan or milk frother

Ingredients

For the Drink

  • 1 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
  • 1/2 tsp ashwagandha root powder
  • 2 tbsp hot water not boiling
  • 1 cup oat milk or milk of choice, steamed
  • 1 tsp honey to taste

Instructions

Make the Paste

  • In a mug, whisk the matcha and ashwagandha powder with the hot water until smooth and lump-free.

Steam and Combine

  • Warm and froth the milk in a saucepan or with a frother until steaming.
  • Pour the steamed milk over the matcha-ashwagandha paste, whisking as you pour.
  • Stir in honey to taste.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Whisk the matcha and ashwagandha into a paste first to avoid clumps. Ceremonial-grade matcha tastes smoother than culinary-grade since there is no espresso to mask bitterness.
