Equipment

  • 1 Tall glass
  • 1 Espresso machine, moka pot or AeroPress
  • 1 Long spoon

Ingredients

For the Latte

  • 2 oz espresso or 1/2 cup double-strength coffee
  • 6 oz cold whole milk or oat milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup or vanilla syrup optional

Instructions

Brew the Coffee

  • Brew 2 ounces of espresso, or 1/2 cup of coffee at double strength.
  • Let the coffee sit for 3 minutes so it does not melt the ice too fast.

Build the Latte

  • Add 1 cup of ice cubes to a tall glass.
  • Pour in the syrup, if using, and swirl it around the ice.
  • Pour 6 ounces of cold milk over the ice.
  • Slowly pour the espresso over the milk so it forms ribbons.
  • Stir gently just before drinking so the flavors blend evenly.
  • Serve right away with a straw.

Notes

Let hot espresso cool before pouring. Brew coffee at double strength since milk mutes flavor. Oat milk works for a dairy-free version. Keep brewed coffee in the fridge for up to 3 days.
