For the Golden Milk
1cupmilkdairy or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free
1/2tspground turmericstart lighter if your turmeric is very fresh/potent

1/4tspfresh grated gingeror 1/8 tsp ground ginger

Instructions
Warm the Milk and Spices
Pour the milk into a small saucepan over low-medium heat.
Whisk in the ground turmeric and black pepper until no dry clumps remain.
Stir in the ground cinnamon and grated ginger.
Simmer and Sweeten
Let the mixture warm for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, without letting it boil.
Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup.
Pour through a fine mesh strainer for a smoother cup, or skip for more texture.
Whisk vigorously or use a frother for a light foam, then pour into a mug and garnish.
Notes
Store leftover golden milk in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently and whisk again since the turmeric settles. Swap dairy milk for full-fat coconut milk or almond milk for a dairy-free version.
