Cortisol Cocktail Recipe

Fresh orange juice, unsweetened coconut water, a pinch of cream of tartar, and a pinch of sea salt, stirred together and served over ice. Known as the "adrenal cocktail" before it went viral under the cortisol name — no clinical evidence it lowers cortisol, but it's a genuine electrolyte drink.

Equipment

  • 1 Collins or highball glass
  • 1 Spoon for stirring

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup orange juice fresh-squeezed if you can
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • Stir the orange juice, coconut water, cream of tartar, and sea salt together in a glass until the cream of tartar dissolves.
  • Pour over ice if serving cold, or drink at room temperature.

Notes

No clinical evidence any combination of these ingredients lowers cortisol (Cleveland Clinic). It is a genuine electrolyte drink, which is likely why people report feeling better after it.
